Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) today announced the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 will be available to pre-order in Emerald Green from today on the Huawei Store, and will come bundled with a Huawei Watch GT 2 (Black) and a pair of Huawei FreeBuds 3 (Black, White or Red). The product goes on sale from 28th July for £1,699.99 RRP (Intel 10th GEN i7), whilst the Grey version is currently available to purchase from the Huawei Store.

“As an ultra-slim flagship notebook, the all-new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro epitomizes Huawei’s signature design and craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the breakthroughs in the touch-enabled Ultra FullView display, power consumption, performance, and all-scenario connectivity empower consumers to stay productive anytime, anywhere. The premium aesthetics, innovative technology, and intelligence are engrained in the DNA of the MateBook X Pro Series, and the latest iteration exemplifies that heritage. It is our most powerful, portable and intelligent all-purpose device yet, and we’re excited to bring that to the hands of consumers,” said Wang Yinfeng, President of PC and Tablet Product Line, Huawei Consumer BG.

MateBook X Pro 2020

Starting at £1,399, the MateBook X Pro 2020 with its beautiful design, reliable performance, great display, and excellent battery life. And even though it misses out on brute graphics prowess, the HUAWEI offering should be on your radar if you are looking for a premium Windows 10 ultrabook.

Travelers will be delighted to know that the new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro supports the world’s fastest Wi-Fi on a notebook, which allows it to get better signal reception and provide more stable connectivity than ever before. Bluetooth 5.0 on the latest flagship MateBook has quicker data transmission speeds with wider signal coverage and stronger broadcasting capabilities over its previous iteration. This means the new notebook can be connected from a longer distance, with more stable signals

Incredibly narrow bezels — Huawei talks of a ‘borderless experience’ — set the 13.9-inch screen in a chassis that’s just 304mm wide and 217mm tall. It’s impressively thin too — 14.6mm at the back, tapering to a narrower front edge. The weight is 1.33kg, which is heavier than some ultraportables, but perfectly manageable. An obvious comparison is the Dell XPS 13 2020, which weighs in at 1.2kg, albeit with a slightly smaller (13.4 inch) screen.

Huawei provides a pretty minimal set of on-board ports and connectors. There’s a single USB-3.0 port on the right edge, while the left edge houses a 3.5mm headset jack and two USB-C ports with support for data, charging, and DisplayPort. One of these USB-C ports is used for charging.

Standard features:

  • Core i5-10210U or Core i7-10510U CPU options
  • 8 / 16 GB LPDDR3-2133 RAM (8 GB option only for the MateBook 13)
  • Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5
  • 1 MP webcam with Windows Hello integration
  • 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports (1 supports charging, as well), the audio jack (1x USB-A port only on the MateBoo X Pro)
  • 512 GB NVMe SSD (1 TB option for the MateBook X Pro only)
  • Fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button
