Huawei has announced the global release schedule of EMUI 10.1. First introduced during the launch of the Huawei P40 series in March this year, EMUI 10.1 is built upon Huawei’s distributed technology model, offering users a seamless all-scenario experience across multiple devices. As we move towards a smarter future, Huawei’s EMUI 10.1 promises path-breaking innovation that surmounts hardware limitations while allowing cross-device collaboration like never before.
Starting later this June, Huawei and Honor will roll out the EMUI 10.1/Magic UI 3.1 update to HUAWEI P30, HUAWEI P30 Pro, HUAWEI Mate 20, HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 20 RS, HUAWEI Mate 20 X, HUAWEI Mate 20 X (5G), HUAWEI nova 5T, HUAWEI Mate Xs, HUAWEI P40 lite, HUAWEI nova 7i, HUAWEI Mate 30, HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro, HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro 5G, HUAWEI MatePad Pro and HUAWEI MediaPad M6 10.8″.
In addition, HONOR View30 PRO, HONOR 20, HONOR 20 PRO, HONOR View20 will receive the Magic UI 3.1 system.
Security and Privacy
The security and privacy are on priority in EMUI 10.1. It provides fully encrypted local and cloud data as well as security features such as PrivateSpace, App Lock, and Password Vault to protect user’s privacy. Moreover, the microkernel of TEE has achieved CC EAL 5+, the highest level of security certification for a consumer device OS globally.
EMUI 10.1 also brings Golden Snap which allows for a state of the art intelligent photography experience. The photo you capture isn’t just a photo anymore. When you shoot, instead of getting a singular frame, the camera now records 4K moving images for additional frames taken before and after the shutter button is pressed. To get the best shot every time, the AI Best Moment analyzes these frames and selects the best out of the lot.
Now users can answer audio or video calls hands free directly from their PC thanks to the new functionality added to the Multi-Screen Collaboration. You can also open hyperlinks and files on your smartphone with the native PC applications for enhanced productivity.
Multi-Device Control Panel
To enhance user experience to the best of its ability, the Multi-Device Control Panel allows users to keep an eye on all the connected devices around them. Moreover, it also intelligently recommends nearby devices which can be used to improve current user experience.
You can now share files quickly with the high-speed file transfer through Huawei Share. File transfer is possible with other devices such as tablets and PCs. With HUAWEI Share on the HUAWEI P40 Series, consumers can stream music to a smart speaker, initiate screen projection, and connect to Wi-Fi by tapping the device they want to connect to with their phone.
Simply wake up the voice assistant by saying “Hey Celia” or hold the power button for one second to launch. The deep integration grants Celia access to the device’s hardware and AI, enabling the voice assistant to support object identification, media playback control, text messaging, face-to-face translation, and more.
To benefit from the all-scenario capabilities of EMUI 10.1, users may check for eligibility by going to Settings > System & Updates > Software Update on their devices, or go to Support (HiCare) App > Quick Services > More > Update to get the update in advance.
