Over the weekend, Acer unveiled updated versions of the Acer Swift 7, the Chromebook 11 and the Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop, amongst others. The Acer Swift 7 (SF714-51T) is claimed to be the world’s thinnest laptop with exquisite detail and craftsmanship, but what backs up these claims? Well, it is an incredible 8.98 mm thin. There’s no word on how much it weighs, though Acer are promising it has an ultraportable design and all-day battery life, and by this they mean 10 hours.
It features a powerful Intel Core 7th Gen i7 processor and Intel XMM 4G LTE connectivity. This will ensure that users are always connected and can stay productive as a result. It eliminates the wireless connection problems that many of us suffer while working on the road. It has a Nano SIM card slot and features eSIM technology which allows the download and activation of eSIM profiles. It also comes with a Transatel profile with up to 1 GB2 of free data for one month in 48 countries. This will enable consumers to start using the aforementioned features right away and then purchase a data plan based on their individual needs. These data plans can be purchased through a Mobile Plans application while on the move. It also has 802.11ac wireless with 2×2 MIMO to provide reliable and fast connections to home or office networks.
It comes with Windows 10, 256 GB of PCle SSD storage and 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory. There’s also a fingerprint reader for those of us who can’t remember the numerous passwords we need to have, and secure sign-in through Windows Hello. It’s not just impressive in terms of performance but also appearances. It has an aluminium chassis which is stylish and modern with a high-resolution display that has been upgraded to 14 inches and a Full HD IPS5 display. Acer Color Intelligence gives exceptional clarity and has a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and a touchpad. There’s a backlit keyboard designed for typing in dimly lit conditions.
President of IT Products Business of Acer Inc. Jerry Kao said, “We’re extremely proud to make the world’s thinnest laptop even thinner with the new Swift 7.”
Chris Walker, Vice President of Intel Corp said, “The next PC anyone buys should be a great PC – powerful to feed the newest richest experiences all day long.
