Yesterday, Acer introduced some exciting additions to their product line, including the Acer Swift 7, the Acer Spin 3 and their new Chromebook 11 line.
The Acer Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT/ CB311-8H) is going to be aimed at consumers and families, or anyone who uses their device in a shared space or moves around. It has a large 11.6 inch display and a portable fanless design which will ensure it’s ideal for working discreetly in quiet locations. It is ideal for connecting peripherals, charging phones and other mobile devices and has two USB 3.1 Type C ports. It also offers up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge, so should be good for a whole day’s work. There’s also a MicroSD card reader for accessing and transferring content, two USB 3.0 ports and for wireless connectivity there are 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless connectivity and Bluetooth.
With Intel Celeron processors, the Chromebook 11 should be able to handle multiple apps and browser tabs. It comes with 2GB or 4GB of memory and 16 GB or 32GB of eMMC storage. It’s only 18.15mm thin and weighs in at 1.1kg.
The Chromebook 11 features an 11.6 inch IPS display which is going to be available either as touch or non-touch with 1366×768 resolution. The HDR camera, dual stereo speakers and integrated microphone make this a great choice for web chats. On this laptop you can easily watch HD videos from camcorders and other devices, just don’t forget to install the appropriate player software or convert source files to AVI to watch videos with the default Windows player. The Acer Chromebook 11 is designed with Google’s ecosystem in mind, so accessing Google Drive, Gmail and Chrome apps and extensions will be easy. It fully supports Google Play and consumers will have access to Android apps from there.
James Lin, the General Manager of Commercial & Detachable Notebooks, IT Products Business at Acer Inc says, “The new Acer Chromebook 11 continues Acer’s tradition of delivering strong performance with all the benefits of Chrome OS at an excellent value. Chromebooks are widely known as a fast, easy and secure way to work and play both online and offline. Customers can play games, stay productive, enjoy content and do even more with the new Acer Chromebook 11 thanks to its support of Google Play.”
Exact specifications and available will vary depending on your region, as will prices. There are several models of the Chromebook 11 line which will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in March with prices starting from £249. To find out more, you can visit the Acer website.
