Yesterday we featured the new OnePlus 5 smartphone and today we can reveal that O2 are the exclusive high street retailer for this phone in the UK. It will be available on the O2 Refresh tariffs in-store and online.
The O2 Refresh tariff means customers can upgrade their phone whenever they like if they pay off the remainder of their Phone Plan. Anyone who previously purchased the OnePlus 3T from O2 can upgrade to a OnePlus 5 by contacting O2. They can also recycle their old OnePlus 3T handset instore to receive £80 toward the remainder of their Phone Plan.
It is available to pre-order from today in either Midnight Black with 128GB of storage of Slate Gray with 64GB of storage on tariffs that offer between 500 MB and 30 GB of data.
Those who order during the first week the tariffs will include 30 GB of data allowance for £49 per month on the 64 GB version or £51 on the 128 GB version. There is a small upfront payment of £9.99 to pay on both.
There are three special in-store events running from 22nd-24th June for OnePlus die-hard fans to get the device early. These events are open to the public and select OnePlus fans and will feature live product demos, support and advice from O2 Gurus, a chance to win a prize draw to win a OnePlus 5 handset.
These special events will take place at the following O2 stores:
- Thursday 22nd June – Birmingham Bullring Level 1 (5-8pm)
- Friday 23rd June – 134 Oxford St (5-8pm)
- Saturday 24th June – Manchester Arndale (10am-1pm)
From 27th June, the OnePlus 5 can be purchased online directly from OnePlus but O2 will be the exclusive high-street retailer. From 29th June standard pricing will apply. The 64 GB version will be priced from £34 per month for 500 MB of data and the 128 GB version will be priced from £36 per month. Both still include the upfront payment of £9.99.
