Featured Kickstarter: Exlicon MX

From the makers of Exlicon and Magcon, two Kickstarter successes, we get the Exlicon MX. They sent me a sample to try out, so this is part feature part review, though the product has so much more to it then what I tried.

The device, as is obvious from the gif above, is effectively a compass that allows you to draw circles, from 10mm up to 475mm.

So what makes it so special?

Basically the fact that it is so much more than that.

It is a ruler, a measuring device, a device to draw all sorts of various shapes, be it a hexagon or an equilateral triangle or something purely artistic.

It is one device, that includes the following aspects to it:

  • Compass
  • Protractor
  • Rule
  • Book Mark (a bit of a stretch but sure)
  • French Curve
  • Golden Ratio Tool
  • Measurement device
  • Template to make many other shapes

This allows this device to be a one easy thing to tick off many boxes.

The applications vary from folk that are students all the way to professionals drawing serious designs, all the way to artists simply being creative.

On top of the application, it must be said that particularly impressive is the build quality as well as the attention to detail that has gone into this device.

All in all, a very interesting tool for anybody who is interested to expand their stationery.
