The incredible hOn Smart Home app by Haier, that enables you to control your appliances, is being launched in the UK. the hOn app received the Red Dot Award in April 2020 for its incredible functionality and innovative approach. It has, ever since then, been further developed by Haier’s IoT specialists to provide a single digital platform to control, manage and make the most out of connected appliances from all of Haier Europe’s brands.
It packs the latest tech, advanced digital solutions, artificial intelligence and advanced sensors that Haier has to offer. Providing a next-level experience to customers is the main aim of the hOn app, alongside gathering GDPR-compliant usage data to support product R&D.
You can experience control through the multiple modes the hOn app has to offer. You can control through touch, voice and smart speakers. The app is extremely fast with connectivity and takes less than a minute to pair with a product.
Users also get to download programmes, recipes, tips and enjoy a chatbox function on the app. As a result, it is able to provide a central hub to remotely control, monitor and manage appliances from Haier Europe’s brand, Hoover, Candy and Haier.
The App also allows users to have a review of the energy and efficiency of their appliance/s. Real-time updates can also be received such as the amount of detergent remaining in auto-dosing models, check product instructions and receive notifications for any maintenance required.
Brand-specific capabilities include:
- Hoover ‘Scan to Care’ – washing labels are photographed and stored in a virtual wardrobe so they can be discarded
- Candy ‘Snap & Wash’ – a programme is recommended from a photo of the load in front of the washing machine
- Haier ‘Optical Washing’ – which provides advice and guidance on what, how and where items should be stored in a dishwasher from a photo of the basket.
Initially launching in the UK on Hoover’s new H-WASH collection, hOn will then transitionally roll out across other products. The Haier Europe hOn app is available from the App Store (5* rating) and Google Play (4.75* rating) for iOS and Android devices.
A Red Dot Award is considered the most important and renowned design accolade and the scheme has been running since 1955. Each year the process recognises the best products created through an international jury of around 40 members which appraised more than 6,500 this year!
Antony Peart, director of brand and communications at Haier Europe, said: “As the number one brand globally in major appliances in 2019*, the launch of the hOn app in the UK is just one example of our commitment to supporting cutting-edge technology.
“Smart appliances are unique to every user as they can be tailored towards individual needs, so they can help save time and add real value to home life. From providing step-by-step cooking guides to checking the weather and suggesting when to run a wash programme, they can help in a world of ways.”
