Lexus has come up with an exclusive edition of its LC 500 Convertible in order to do justice to the beautiful driving machine. The new Regatta Edition of the model features a unique color combination that presents it in its best effect. The bodywork and roof are showered in a deep blue which in combination with the white and blue of the interior evoke the ambiance of a luxury marina, lined with ocean-going yachts – an image that was part of the original design inspiration for the car.
The Structural Blue color which was originally put into place for the LC Coupe has been used on the exterior finish of the LC 500 Convertible. It uses advanced paint technology to replicate the intense depth of tone found in the natural world. With the help of microparticles in the pigment, the light that falls onto this finish reflects in such a way that it beautifies the curves of the bodywork in the most natural way, resulting in various perceptions of light and shade when viewed from different angles. This tones perfectly with a Marine Blue finish for the Regatta Edition’s folding soft top, emphasizing how the designers have succeeded in retaining the LC’s distinctive coupe roofline in the context of the convertible.
Keeping in mind the fact that the interior of a convertible is out in the open for view, the team of designers at Lexus has ensured a seamless and harmonious flow between the inside and outside of the car. The dark blue and white combination of the interior in the Regatta Edition of the LC 500 Convertible reflects this quality perfectly and professionally. The dominant color on the inside is white which is used for the interior facings on the pillars, the steering wheel (including the center pad), and the headlining.
You can also see contrasting deep blue upper and white lower sections on the instrumental panel and door panels whereas the front seats are upholstered white perforated semi-aniline leather with blue highlights on the headrests, upper shoulder area, and grab handles.
On Wednesday 5 August, Lexus will open first reservations for the new LC 500 Convertible for UK customers at www.lexus.co.uk, prior to the first cars being delivered during autumn 2020.
