vivo has announced the X50 series which brings forth devices designed for professional mobile photography experience. vivo X50 comes with a range of excellent features in a mid-range budget. The device is provided with a bezel-less design with an on-screen fingerprint unlock feature. It comes with impressive internal specifications as well as massive storage capacity. Moreover, it comes with a fast-charging option, by which the battery can be refilled in a shorter duration. However, it lacks wireless charging features and doesn’t have any screen protection which can be counted as a drawback.
“X50 series is a professional photography flagship smartphone for consumers to record and share the best moments of their lives in a simple way,” said Spark Ni, Senior Vice President of vivo. “With stable-shooting capabilities, outstanding lenses and sensors, and an overall advanced camera system, the X50 series flagship devices allow users to capture life stories with professional quality. These are the first X series devices to be launched globally and we are excited to share the best of our innovative technology and design concepts with people around the world.”
The standard X50 sees a major change in chipset compared to the Chinese model, swapping out the 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G in favor of the Snapdragon 730 processor. Otherwise, you’re still getting extras like a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 4,200mAh battery with 33W charging.
Meanwhile, the X50 Pro retains the Snapdragon 765G processor as well as a 48MP gimbal camera system for better videography and low-light shots. The Pro variant also delivers a 5x periscope camera compared to the standard model’s 2x telephoto zoom. Other notable features include a 90Hz refresh rate and a 4,315mAh battery with 33W charging.
With cutting-edge stabilization, night mode, zoom, and portrait technologies, X50 series smartphones enable users to capture stable and high-quality images and videos in a wide range of scenarios, making every shot a masterpiece. The design of Vivo’s X50 series draws from natural elements and futuristic aesthetics, aiming to complement the active lifestyles of consumers. With professional photography capabilities, stunning design, and smooth performance, the X50 series pushes the boundaries of high-end flagship smartphones.
All three phones have a 32-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera, dual-mode 5G, and Wi-Fi 6. They all run Vivo’s Funtouch OS 10, based on Android 10.
The X50 series will initially launch in markets including India, Indonesia, Russia, and more. Indian pricing is Rs. 34,990 (~$465) for an X50 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, Rs. 37,990 ($505) for 8GB/256GB, and Rs. 49,990 ($665) for an 8GB/256GB X50 Pro.
