A9 2020

Oppo A9 2020 smartphone was launched on 11th September 2019. The phone comes with a 6.50-inch touchscreen display. Oppo A9 2020 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo A9 2020 runs Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 5000mAh battery. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Oppo A9 2020 on the rear packs a 48-megapixel primary camera; a second 8-megapixel camera; a third 2-megapixel camera and a fourth 2-megapixel camera. It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.

More in the package

The Oppo A9 2020 runs ColorOS 6.0.1 based on Android 9 Pie and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB) with a dedicated slot. The Oppo A9 2020 is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards.

Connectivity options on the Oppo A9 2020 include Wi-Fi, GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India) with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

“We named the handset the OPPO A Series 2020 in celebration of the beginning of the new decade and to commemorate the success of our current A series over the past ten years,” said Michael Tran, Executive Director, OPPO UK. “We’re excited to welcome a new generation of users and bring to the UK a high performing and beautiful handset that provides access to the latest technologies, stunning design and a battery that keeps up with their demands, on the go and every day without disruption.”

Design

In terms of design, the device scores decent marks. The back looks attractive with a glass-like finish which gives it an aesthetic feel. The quad rear camera is placed vertically alongside the LED flash, which adds extra charm. The fingerprint sensor, placed at the back, was quick. The OPPO logo is placed vertically in the centre. The left edge of the phone hosts the dual-SIM card tray and the volume buttons and the SIM tray hosts a dedicated space for Micro-SD card which helps users expand in-built 8GB memory up to 256GB.

The volume rockers are at the left and power button at right, quite easy to operate. The lower edge of the phone houses speakers, Type C charging slot with fast-charging support and audio jack input. The smartphone features 6.53-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1,600×720. The device’s screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The front of the device has a dew-drop notch design that looks good.

The OPPO A9 2020 also features 3D gradient designs for a more vibrant, eye-catching look, with each handset made from four curved 3D sheets, which look thinner and fits comfortably into the hand. These feature Nano-scale patterns that create multi-toned, radiant colouring from different angles and under different lighting.

Ultimate Photography

Ultra Night Mode 2.0 ensures efficient noise reduction, while HDR and Multi-Frame Technology provide users with night scene pictures that exceed the brightness and detail that the human eye can perceive. Faces appear bright and detailed, while background light flare is greatly diminished. Images stay crisp and clear whether capturing bright city lights or dim country nights. Ultra Night Mode 2.0 even works while taking Ultra Wide-angle photos.

OPPO’s latest stabilisation technology also meets consumers’ growing demand for high-quality action videos, with a built-in gyroscope on these two handsets. This creates more stable shooting while running, walking, cycling and more, along with improved video filters that allow users to create their own movies with the press of a button, ideal for creating eye-catching content in the era of short video apps.
