Samsung launched its first phablet back in 2011 with a whole new concept for mobile phones. Today on August 7th, 2019, Samsung has continued the trend and introduced two new phablets, namely the Galaxy Note 10 and the galaxy note 10 plus. The two devices have some differences other than a half an inch screen size difference with the Note 10 having a 6.3-inch display compared to Note 10 Plus’s 6.8-inch, both Infinity-O which is the first the phablet lineup has seen. Let’s dig into what we caught from the live event.
The Galaxy Note 10
The Note 10 has a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution, coming in at 2280 x 1080 pixels, with 401 pixels per inch. It includes HDR 10+ technology. The major difference from recent Samsung devices is the placement of the front-facing camera in the top middle of the display. This phablet is specially designed in a compact form for people with smaller hands who also want the S pen experience. However, it is still quite a large phone to use with one hand.
The Galaxy Note 10 Plus
The note 10 plus has easily become the largest display phone Samsung has to offer in 2019 with a massive 6.8-inch stunner AMOLED Infinity-O display sporting a 3040 x 1440 (that’s QHD) resolution – that’s 498 pixels per inch, and it supports HDR10+ content too. The whole concept for the note 10 plus is to become your companion between work and home according to Samsung. The great display has commendable capabilities that make your everyday life easier.
The note 10 comes with an 8GB ram-packed with a storage option of 256GB only. There is no room for a MicroSD slot. However, on the note 10 plus, the ram is boosted up to a massive 12GB with storage options ranging from 256Gb to 512GB as well as the option to expand storage up to 512GB. The note 10 comes packed with a 3500mAh battery whereas the note 10 plus has a massive 4300 mAh battery, both equipped with fast charging. Furthermore, the major difference is the additional DepthVision camera in Note 10 Plus that makes it stand out for photographers and content creators.
The road to creativity: S pen and the rear Cameras
Both the devices are equipped with state of the art cameras with the regular Note 10 having 3 rear cameras and the note 10 plus having an additional Depth Vision camera. Both devices have lenses for all kinds of shots in a variety of situations. As much good the picture quality is, the real deal is how Samsung has improved in the video making department. The cameras are now capable of not just blurring out the background in photos but in videos as well. Moreover, you can now zoom into objects as well as sounds while shooting videos, taking content creation on the phablet to a whole new level. In simpler words, Samsung has come up with a single solution for content creators. A phablet that can capture stunning imagery, shoot professional videos, and edit the content so you won’t need anything else.
Eva Zubeck, the travel vlogger gave her insights about how the S pen is great for its functionality. Now you have the option to take photos and shoot videos using the S pen while you are on the go without any companion. It makes it convenient to shoot vlogs and other kinds of videos.
The depth vision camera on the Note 10 plus allows it to 3D scan and bring objects to life. Moreover, by combining the power of the S Pen and the camera, Samsung has made it possible to sketch your own stickers. They are calling this the AR doodle. Drawing on moving objects, filters can be personalized. It makes it super easy to add creativity to video. Creating things that exist in your imagination!
Samsung is working with Microsoft to unify the computer and mobile platform to make and productivity easier by integrating key services. Moreover, Dex allows you to extend to the power of the pc using just a USB-C cable. The operating system and GPU are solid in performance giving you optimized gaming experience.
