Logitech have presented two wireless gaming mice and an infinite charging system to the world. The pioneers in wireless gaming have been developing this technology over decades and have voiced their commitment to continuing this in the future.
If you’re a gamer, you probably have a list of things you want from a gaming mouse such as exceptional precision and lag-free performance. Those are things that Logitech are promising to deliver with their new gaming mice, the Logitech®G903 Lightspeed™ Wireless Gaming Mouse and Logitech® G703 Lightspeed™ Wireless Gaming Mouse. The G903 and the G703 both offer the exquisite performance and superior quality already expected of Logitech but with Lightspeed technology. Logitech G LightspeedTM technology which has been developed over decades to offer power performance and unbeatable connectivity. It will be compatible with the Powerplay charging system.
Lightspeed wireless technology features a one-millisecond report rate together with end-to-end signal optimisation. It also delivers Frequency Agility Mechanism which avoids interference, offering consistency in performance. The signal strength can also reach an impressive 16x (12DB) higher than that of their competitors. Its wireless receiver will pair with the Powerplay wireless charging system as well as the G903 and G703 gaming mice. This also means users can charge over a single USB cable.
Both feature the PMW3366 optical sensor which is revered as the best gaming mouse sensor available by esports professionals and gamers alike. It delivers zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration across the whole DPI range (200-12,000 DPI) to bring excellent tracking accuracy and responsiveness, even at speeds over 400 IPS.
The G903 also has precisely-tensioned metal springs and mechanical pivot hinges keep the primary left and right buttons ready. This advanced mechanical button tensioning technology will provide a crisp feel and response. The durability is impressive too with improvements in design meaning it will handle up to 50 million click switches.
For lots of us, comfort is crucial and a lack of this can mean your gaming enjoyment is reduced, so it’s good to know that the mice have an ambidextrous design and configurable button layout. The design also allows for any grip style including palm, claw and fingertip grips and an ergonomic body with rubber grips on the left and right sides made to mould to your hand.
Logitech G PowerplayTM is the world’s first wireless charging system for gaming mice. It will deliver continuous charging whether you are playing or not. This means you don’t have to park the device to recharge it. The energy field is captured and transformed into charging current via the Powercore™ module. This will attach magnetically to compatible gaming mice, using an application of electromagnetic resonance to create an energy field above Powerplay’s 275 x 320mm surface. It will send wireless power with no interruptions to the mouse’s tracking and data transmission.
The Logitech G903 and G703 Lightspeed wireless gaming mice are expected this month with a RRP of $149.99 and $99.99 respectively. The Powerplay Wireless Charging System will be available from August 2017 with a RRP of $99.99.
