Among the exciting news at #IFA2016 today, we have Samsung’s announcement of the Gear S3. The innovative watch has gone a step further from the rotating dial design. Featuring latest looks, IP68 waer resistance, mobile payments, LTE connectivity and built in GPS, this is the most complete watch experience available.
Available in two designs, Classic and Frontier. Classic is your basic, simple, leather strap design, fitting in with anything. Frontier is designed for the sportier client, who looks for a rugged outdoor experience.
The watch is also compatible with 22mm watch bands, making it easy to swap and personalise bands. Great care has been taken in the design, from the circular bezel to the premium finishing.
Of course, you can’t really have a high functioning watch without water resistance. The Gear S3 meets IP68 standards. It also features Gorilla Glass, making it tougher and more scratch resistant.
An Always On Display runs a 16 million colour Super AMOLED screen. It doesn’t fade, meaning it looks and feels more like an ordinary analog watch.
The signature rotating bezel has been enhanced thanks to new features. Users can accept or reject calls, and even snooze alarms. Also, writing or drawing on the display will automatically convert to texts and emojis. Users can also create reminders and lists in the Reminders app.
The built-in GPS functionality enables users to accurately monitor their daily fitness activities while the Alti/barometer and Speedometer allow users to track everything from altitude and atmospheric pressure to sudden changes in weather, distance travelled and speed.
Where supported, users can even use the app to make payments.
