Rakuten’s Play.com have today announced that they will be supporting Kids Company, a charity that provides intensive support to vulnerable and at risk children across London. The support will bring a variety of computer games, toys, books and other delightful gifts from the site’s merchants to the Kid’s Company.
All the gifts will be given out at this year’s Kids Company Christmas Party.
Shingo Murakami, Rakuten’s Play.com’s Managing Director, comments: “We are delighted to be able to spread some Christmas joy this year and it’s such a deserving charity. Kids Company does exceptionally well to support vulnerable inner-city children and we are so pleased to be able to support their efforts.”
Camila Batmanghelidjh, Founder and Chief Executive of Kids Company, expressed her delight: “Traumatised children often think of harming themselves during the Christmas period. Their sense of loneliness is enhanced as they watch families gather to celebrate and exchange presents. With the help of Rakuten’s Play.com we can transform their despair into childlike joy and fill their bag with a present. Kids Company will open on Christmas Day for over 4,000 children, young people and vulnerable adults.”
The donation doesn’t stop with Play.com though, and you can also partake in the noble deed by donating here:
