Minx TV – giving your TV back its voice!

Minx TV - Front View At An Angle

Most sound enthusiasts, audiophiles, or technology lovers are aware of the one problem our thinner and flat panel televisions have given us. The loss of sound quality. The problem is quite simple, the speakers just aren’t big enough, and that presents you with a thinner, flatter sound.

To sort this problem, Cambridge Audio have today announced the Minx TV, a Bluetooth enabled sound plinth, giving televisions their voice and sound back. A simple, one box solution,  in the form of Minx TV sorts all your worries out.

The Minx TV comes with all the cables you need, and plugs into the sound output of your TV (all the options available). On top of that, it also comes with one button Bluetooth setup, so you can use your phone, tablet, or any similar device to play music through the Minx TV. And being Cambridge Audio, you can trust that the sound quality is good, the vocals clear, the bass deep, and it all engrosses you perfectly in your living room.

Some more details from them:

BMR drivers – Minx TV’s two 2.25-inch patented BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) speaker drivers deliver a wider, more room-filling sound than similarly-sized traditional speakers. Regular speakers, like you’ll find in TVs and sound bars, use a “pistonic” effect to move back and forward to create sound. Our BMR speakers create sound by moving not just back and forward, but with horizontal and vertical vibration too, for a much wider sound. This makes for a larger “sweet spot”; sit anywhere in the room and Minx TV still sounds great. It gives an impressive musical performance and incredible voice clarity – you’ll never need to bump up the volume to make out dialogue again.

6.5-inch subwoofer – Minx TV’s digital amplifier delivers impressive power, while its built-in 6.5-inch subwoofer delivers plenty of bass oomph, guaranteeing that television and movies will sound big enough to match the big-screen action. The subwoofer points downwards, so positioning is unimportant and the speaker cone is kept safe from knocks.

100W amplification – 50W subwoofer plus two 25W channels for the BMR drivers adds up to a sound big and room-filling enough to match any TV and any big screen action.

Digital signal processing (DSP) – Advanced DSP technology gets the biggest sound possible from a compact enclosure, and without introducing annoying cabinet rattle. The results are truly amazing, with sound that’s louder, crisper and fuller than other TV one-box systems.

Adjustable EQ modes – There are four sound modes to choose from: TV, Film, Music and Voice. Each subtly adjusts the EQ settings of the built-in 100W amplifier to suit different listening material and personal preferences.

Bluetooth wireless streaming – One button pairing, with up to 8 audio devices remembered

Range of inputs – Digital optical (Toslink), RCA line level, 3.5mm headphone jack. Optical and 3.5mm cables are included, as is a slender remote control to set volume, input and sound mode.

Solid construction – Stress tested up to 30kg, Minx TV is so strong it can support up to 47-inch screens (any TV as long as it fits on Minx TV’s 490x300mm top). The solidly built cabinet is also acoustically damped to minimise vibration and distortion to keep sound as pure as possible.

Eco-friendly Less than 0.5W standby power consumption and auto power down if not used for 20 minutes.

The Minx TV is available from today, and it retails at £199.95. For more information, and to buy this, head to www.cambridge-audio.com/minx-tv.
