Apple show us the new iPhone 5s and the colourful iPhone 5C

I am sure over the last month or so we have all heard that Apple are releasing two new iPhones. I am a loyal Apple follower and can’t break away from my iPhone or iPad. I have tried a windows phone but kept going back to my faithful iPhone.

I have just finished following the Apple Live Expo; I have to say ‘I want!’

I am not sure what I expected to be honest, I didn’t expect too much more from the iPhone 5s and expected little from the rumoured iPhone 5c.

The new entry-level iPhone 5C is smaller than the current iPhone 5 but with a 4-inch retina display that has an integrated touch screen it can’t help but be a pleaser! For the individuals out there it comes in a variety of colours which include Green, yellow, blue, white and red.

The entire back and sides are made from one piece of hard-coated polycarbonate, no seams, part lines or joints. There is a cool range of cases which have been designed around the cameras and flash.

The iPhone 5C is powered by an A6 and has an 8MP iSight camera.

It’s simpler, more capable and more colourful and even though it can’t give me what my current iPhone can it is cool!

The iPhone 5S has so much more than the iPhone 5. We have seen three new colours Gold, silver and space grey! What’s ‘space grey’ about? Anyway, it’s made of a high-grade aluminium with cut chamfered edges.

It contains the A7 chip! A 64-bit chip. The first ever of any kind. This will be amazing to see in action and will have Xcode support. It is backwards-compatible, 32 and 64-bit and will Run 32-bit and 64 bit apps.

The CPU performance is 40 times faster than the original iPhone! After we heard that the new game performance has to keep up with games that have four times the detail, I am not surprised it is so much faster.

There’s a new part called M7, that works alongside the A7. It’s a motion co-processor. It measures motion data continuously; accelerometer, gyroscope, compass support, it enables a new generation of health and fitness apps. It basically uses the M7 chip and GPS to keep track of the activities you’re doing.

Battery life is always important. It has been said that it will give 10 hours 3G talk time, 250 hours standby, 10 hours LTE browsing and 40 hours music playback. We shall see!!!

The new camera has a 5 element Apple designed lens. I love my iPhone for taking pictures and with the new 15% larger active sensor area I am hoping to take my limited photography skills to the next level! There are a lot of auto editing updates; it will automatically set white balance, exposure level and autofocus. There’s a new flash called True Tone. It has auto image stabilization and digital stabilization.

Touch ID is now official on the 5S. This is such a cool feature! The fingerprint sensor is built right into the home button, around the button is a stainless steel detection ring, it can detect that your finger is actually on the button, so you don’t have to press it. As it’s built-in, you can make iTunes purchases by using your finger to authenticate. It can read multiple fingerprints. The fingerprint is never stored on Apple servers or backed up to iCLoud. At the moment the 5C is available in 16GB £469 and the 32GB £549. The 5s starts from £549 for a 16GB and goes up to £709 for a 64GB. These are Apple prices and obviously companies will be working on their contracts and prices as I type!

The 5C will be available for pre-order on Sept 13th. The 5S and 5C will also be available on Sept 20th in stores in the UK.

I am overall impressed with both and look forward to seeing if they hold up to my expectations!
