I have mounted mine behind the rear view mirror, and it has been rock solid there since. The long cable helps and it is pretty much install and forget.

Initial Setup
The device is pretty much plug and play, so there isn’t much to it. However, some observations:
- On first boot-up, the battery charge was so low that it got stuck into a loop of constant turn offs and restarts. I brought it back indoors and put it on a charger as I didn’t want that happening while I was driving to see if it would recover. It did after about half an hour. Haven’t had this issue since.
- It makes an annoying jingle at start-up (at least to me), which can be turned off. This was part of why I didn’t want it in the car while I was driving around.
Ease of Use
Setting up the DVR40GPS is straightforward. The intuitive touchscreen interface makes navigating the menus and adjusting settings a breeze. The included GPS module provides accurate location tracking, and the G-Sensor automatically locks footage in the event of an accident.

- Wi-Fi Connectivity Can Be Unreliable: While convenient, the Wi-Fi connectivity can sometimes be temperamental, requiring multiple attempts to connect. If you don’t want to access the microSD card, the WiFi is the only means to download the videos from the dashcam.
