Two big names, Vodafone and Disney, have come together to create a premium kids smart watch. The companies announced the collaboration today and have plans to launch in time for Christmas.
The hardware of the watch is the responsibility of the smart tech team at Vodafone. The software experience will be handled by world-class designers at Vodafone and Disney both. The watch will be powered by best in class mobile connectivity. It will feature some of the most popular Disney characters of all time, delivering a truly unmatched smart watch experience for the kids.
The plan of both companies is to make the product available in key European markets ahead of Christmas 2020. More insights into the specifications of the watch will also be available at the launch. Meanwhile, the two big names will be working together to evolve the dynamic smart watching experience by introducing new Disney characters, interactive content and features.

The companies will be marketing the kids smart watch under the Designed and Connected by Vodafone range. The first of the new smart devices and digital experiences launched in July with the ‘Curve’ smart GPS tracker, making a significant statement of Vodafone’s commitment to end-to-end product design and application of in-house capabilities. Each product developed will utilise Vodafone’s dedicated in-house design team as well as customer experience labs for testing and R&D.
The collaboration with Disney and development of the Smart Tech range is a key strategic move from Vodafone, at a time when there will be a predicted 64 billion smart devices globally by 2026, according to a 2019 Business Insider[] report.
It was also announced that the initial launch of the product will hit the European markets. The mode of sale will be online and via retail channels.
