LG Electronics (LG) has announced an all-new soundbar in an attempt to take the home entertainment experience to a whole new level as well as a new level of spatial and stylistic integration with the company’s premium TVs. The new LG GX soundbar brings modern features with incredible sound production, sophisticated aesthetics all of which go along the LG’s award-winning GX Gallery OLEG series TVs.
LG has designed the GX soundbar to perfectly complement the LG’s artistically inspired Gallery series OLED TVs. The visuals of the soundbar go hand in hand with the visuals of the TV series. In order to give users more flexibility, LG has added the option to either mount the soundbar flush on the wall directly under the TV or support it using the included sturdy steel stand. In order to make the set up seamless, the GX soundbar measures 15H x 144.6W x 3.25D cm, which is identical in width and finish to the 65-inch LG GX Gallery series TV. At the core of LG’s gallery design is the philosophy of a complete TV system that can fit harmoniously within a given space – a concept LG’s designers refer to as “adding spatial value.”
It is not just the design and the harmony of the soundbar and the TV series that makes it special. The sound produced by the GX soundbar is of top-notch quality. It has the Dolby Atmos and DTX:S for remarkable three-dimensional audio. The speaker is Dolby Vision compatible via 4K pass-through, enabling the best possible picture and sound quality for truly cinematic home viewing. The woofer included is no less. It connects wirelessly to the soundbar and delivers low-frequency bass from anywhere in the room. If you add the wireless rear speaker kit by LG (model SPK8, sold separately) you can get an even more powerful and a greater sense of immersion.
The soundbar is extremely user friendly and easy to set up. It also comes with easy connectivity options which include enhanced audio return channel (eARC) and Bluetooth. eARC allows for high-resolution audio formats such as Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio thanks to its high bandwidth. Bluetooth on the other hand provides effortless, ultra-quality streaming from a smartphone or tablet.
What’s more, the LG GX soundbar is Hi-Res Audio certified, offering lossless playback at 24bit/96kHz with greater vibrancy and nuance. The soundbar has the potential to produce natural sounds with extensive detail when playing high res audio files or when upconverting conventional audio formats. The built-in LG AI Sound Pro feature analyses and automatically applies the best sound settings regardless of the content, ensuring maximum listening enjoyment every time.
The new LG GX soundbar will roll out starting this month in Europe, North America, Asia as well as other key markets. Check local retailers for price and exact date of availability.
