5G is set to continue dominating headlines in 2020 as carriers continue their rollouts of the new technology. While some networks are charging extra to access 5G, Vodafone UK has announced that its PAYG customers can enjoy unlimited data and access to 5G, at no extra cost.
Vodafone currently provides 5G connectivity in a total of 108 Vodafone 5G in a total of 108 places across EU (40 UK locations & 68 locations across Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland). Other UK networks such as EE offer (50 UK locations & 0 locations across EU), Three (1 UK location & 0 locations across EU), O2 (21 UK locations & 0 locations across EU).
Furthermore, Vodafone has recently been named as the UK’s best mobile network by the independent testing company nPerf who measured download speed, upload speed, latency, browsing, and streaming performance. nPerf’s testing showed that Vodafone had the highest combined score across all categories versus its competitors.
Vodafone UK Chief Executive Officer Nick Jeffery said: “We want to enable our customers to do what they want when they want – our Unlimited plans do just that. Launching a contract-free 5G Unlimited plan will give more people the opportunity to experience the next generation of speed and connectivity without being committed to a contract – giving them the power to be as flexible as they want.”
To take advantage of Vodafone’s 5G network, customers will need a 5G plan and 5G handset. PAYG customers have the choice of three top-of-the-range 5G handsets – Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Huawei Mate 20X and Samsung Galaxy S10. PAYG customers who want 5G will get unlimited data, as well as speeds as fast as their phone allows with an introductory £40 Big Value Bundle worth £50.
