Ramzan in Pakistan is all about Ramzan shows and we know Ramzan shows are all about the maximum capitalization of the celebrities and their star power. This year we see a new star on the block who is not an adult but a small child Ahmed Shah. He rose to fame with his viral videos like ‘Yeh mera basta hai’ where he was being bullied by his teacher Peechhay tou dekho’ which was shot by his uncle outside his house.
Ahmed Shah soon became one of the most watched and viral celebrities of social media. It is not only about his fluffy cheeks and those thick spectacles but about his blunt persona which melts many hearts into puddles of a vanilla milkshake.
Since Ramzan Shows are true to their soul (read TRP) they leave no stone unturned to bring any person and any antic that can score them the ratings they desire. This Ramzan is all about Ahmed Shah. Various celebrities invited to the show also love Ahmed Shah and take countless pictures with him. Be it, Mahira Khan or Hania Aamir, Ahmed Shah has won many hearts.
Ahmed Shah belongs to KPK and has traveled to Karachi for the sake of these shows with his maternal uncle and brothers But the question that arises is that is it really good for the well-being of this child-star to be subjected to endless shooting hours just for the sake of money which does not even reach him.
They say that he sleeps wherever he finds some space on the sets. In one of the shows, when Ahmed Shah was asked what he really wanted to do, he replied
“I want to be home with my mom.’

Looks like Fahad needs advice from Ahmed alot… There has been debate about whether Ahmed should have been on the show used as a 'prop'. What do you think? On a side note, we love how Fahad Mustapha is always on point with whatever he says. Never hurts and offends anyone. With the amount he talks, not faltering once shows he has some real character. #FahadMustafa #AhmedShah #JeetoPakistan #ARY #PakistaniActors
Child stars all over the world have faced this exploitation by the elders milking their stardom for their own interests. Ahmed Shah is definitely being paid a lucrative amount at the moment and has definitely no idea of his value. The 4-year-old has been working non-stop in front of cameras and lights for the past one month. Just think of the 4-year-olds around you and their playtimes while this child is doing a full-time hardcore job. Not only hard working hours, but another matter of serious concern is also the vile objectification of Ahmed Shah.
In a society like ours, where children are not even taught about their private space what are we doing to Ahmed Shah? He neither has a choice nor the maturity to foresee the impacts of this dangerous trend hidden behind his stardom.
The anchors also compel Ahmed Shah to misbehave because this promises more ratings for sure.
YouTuber Arslan Naseer and Sajal Aly have openly condemned Ahmed Shah’s objectification in Ramzan Shows.
However, there also came a justification from ARY Digital’s CEO Mohammad Jerjees Seja that Ahmed Shah is being taken care of.

MASHALLAH Meet the cute little brothers Ahmed Shah, Omar and Abu Bakar. And just to let everyone know that their mother has been with them in Karachi all along but she does parda so doesn't come on screen or pics. Ahmed and his brother abu bakar have been part of #shaneramzan transmission kids segent along with many other kids who come daily and are tought some nice lessons in a fun way. But yes @cuteahmadshah01 MASHALLAH has a huge following and it has multiplied many fold in last few weeks. May he and his brother shine brighter in future. @divamagazinepakistan @somethinghauteofficial @isloomediablog @hellopakistan @okpakistan @hipinpk
The question is that even if Ahmed Shah has his mother with him in Karachi, is the current trend still healthy for a four-year-old? Are these working hours legit for a child of his age? Is objectification of a child no matter how cute he is still justified? Is this kind of publicity safe for Ahmed Shah at this tender age?
I have my reservations. Let me know what you think of it.
