Encouraging Someone to Actually Take Your Flyer

When you’re thinking of ways to promote something, be it a concert, the opening of a small business, or even your own musical tuition services, the option which many of us choose is to hand out flyers (or leaflets) in public. The reasons are simple: they are relatively cheap to produce, easy to transport, and you can get the attention of hundreds of people. The problem? Actually getting someone to take your flyer.

Look tidy and cheerful

How you present yourself when handing out flyers is hugely important, as you’re far more likely to have people notice you and what you’re promoting if you look stylish and are showing signs of happiness. Remember, you don’t want people to shy away from you when you’re holding flyers, so it’s not a good idea to look miserable and dishevelled.

Don’t aggressively hand out the flyer

To make someone want to take your flyer, you have to hand it out, but not demand that they have one! Don’t follow them or beg them to take it, simply put it in their direction as they are walking by and smile; then it’s their choice whether they’re interested or not. Hundreds of people probably will not be concerned, but you should not dwell on them or get upset. Focus on the ones who do look interested and engage with them.

Make the flyer design look great to begin with

Someone taking the flyer is one thing, but actually making sure they understand what you’re trying to promote is another! This is where using a reputable printing service is necessary, as they can help it look great in terms of design and the finished product (the material, size, etc.). Getting leaflet printing at print24 is certainly an option, because then you can order everything online and have it all sent to your home or place of business.

Choose your spot wisely and mix it up

Naturally, you’ll want to hang around areas that are busy and have people constantly flowing through, so that you have the best chance of reaching the highest amount of people. This means you should go for rush hour at train stations, as well as main shopping streets and of course malls. Always make sure you go for the busiest times, and move on somewhere else if you feel there aren’t enough people to take a flyer.

The main thing to remember is that handing out flyers or leaflets is a long process, and it can take several days to give them all out, depending on how many you ordered, of course. Dress well, be pleasant, design good flyers, and pick the busiest spots, then you’ll do great.
