This week saw lots of new products unveiled at CES 2018 and TCL were showing their commitment to mobile handset development by previewing a new smartphone philosophy as well as a product portfolio direction for their Alcatel business unit. Re-imagining their product designs has led to a modernisation of their 2018 smartphones and they’re are set to be one of the first to offer an immersive 18:9 display experience as standard across their new product series. What is really exciting though is that the new Alcatel product series will bring the flagship style features to all smartphones across the mid and entry price levels.
Christian Gatti, Global President of Alcatel Business Division and Executive Vice President of TCL Communication said, “As the global smartphone market continue to evolve, we come into a new year recognizing the need to stabilize and transform our Alcatel smartphone portfolio to better serve our customers and meet the opportunities ahead. By modernizing our smartphone designs and being one of the first global manufacturers to offer 18:9 full view displays across the majority of our lineup, we’re able to refocus our efforts at democratizing flagship style features and making these experiences accessible to almost any consumer worldwide.”
Alcatel are also planning to make standard the use of panel manufacturing so that their whole product range will use the 18:9 full view displays. They are one of the top-three LCD panel makers in the world and a fast-growing TV brand in the USA and as one of the frontrunners, TCL plan to furnish the Alcatel business unit with vitally important manufacturing efficiencies and a cash injection to further research and development. This will guarantee the products reach the market quicker and will save in manufacturing costs for future devices.
The new 2018 Alcatel product portfolio is in three series with each of them in a different price tier. All of the products have a similar stylish look and feel.
ALCATEL 5 SERIES
This has a much lower cost than comparable flagship phones and comes with some really nifty features like face unlock, 18:9 full view display, excellent imaging and a battery that can easily cope with a full day of use.
ALCATEL 3 SERIES
The Alcatel 3 Series has dual cameras, an attractive design and 18:9 full view display. The series will have a variety of devices, some with large-screen, high-res displays.
ALCATEL 1 SERIES
The Alcatel 1 Series has higher-end features like face unlocking and the 18:9 full view displays but at a very affordable price. It has unibody hardware and a gorgeous design crafted from premium materials.
