A great product by Misfit, specially as the main thing getting in the way of wearables has been battery life. In fact, with Apple’s smart watch only bringing one day, and the fact that it cannot really analyse your sleep when it needs to be charged every night has brought it a lot of criticism. Yes, you have the two day wearables, and you have the five day Pebbles. Misfit’s Shine, however, already packs in months worth of battery life based on its no display fitness and sleep tracker. Definitely a winner!
Partnership with Swarzovski though, not too sure about it. It definitely means I won’t be wearing one. Does it help the R&D process? Or is it mainly focused towards the more fashioned ones among us?
What do you think? Do the looks make them more attractive? Or is the solar battery worth it for you?
By the way, I had a good look at their website, but I haven’t really had the chance to find more information about the solar charged option. I am sure the details will follow soon.
It is also a trend that will be very useful for more wearables to follow, though looking at efficiencies of solar charged batteries vs consumption may mean it may be more of a gimmick than anything else.
