The LG G5 offers various levels of customisations to its users. One of the very interesting ones is actually the ability to change icons for all your apps. So, if you wanted your Twitter app to actually have a letter as an icon, or even a picture, you can do it easily. You can even change the size of the icon to span a bigger size.
Read on to see how to do it.
You start by being at your HOME or APP menu, and holding on to the icon for a few seconds. When you do that, the screen does a little zoom in and out kind of action, and a little brush appears on the icon you were holding.
In this case, we tried the Twitter app. If you hit the Brush, you get the various options.
You’re welcome to choose any of the icons here, or you can choose a picture of your own.
This also allows you to change the size of the menu.
If you hit Add New, you get that option:
Which can be changed as you please:
Hit OK, and it lets you choose any picture from your phone or one of your galleries.
Once you’ve done that, based on your size, you can crop the image as needed.
Here is a Twitter Icon I created from one of the screen shots of the images above:
Totally useless in this case, but shows the point.
So yeah, will you be changing any icons?
I did this with my g3 and for some reason it won’t let me with my g5? After holding it down I only have the option to delete. Is there something I need to do?
Sadly I returned my sample so can’t help you. Hopefully someone else can?
This doesn’t work on the g5 only on the g3 and 4. Don’t know where you got these screen shots
It definitely worked on mine. There must have been a software update in the middle that killed it.
