What if I told you, there is a pen you will have to assemble yourself, using magnets, which has a stylus hidden in it, and it is one hell of a premium product. You might find it funny, or you may think I am joking.

You may look again, if I showed you the following image with it:

In fact, this is one of those cool Kickstarter success stories we all want to hear!

Right, now that you are with me, let’s look at the device in more detail.

Does it work as it says on the tin? Oh yes it does. Is it fun? Oh yes. Is it cool if you’re not quite a CEO who needs to have one of these on his desk and still have one? Yes, very much so.

Was I able to do any of the things it promised? Yes, it is surprisingly easy, the magnets are quite strong, so if you know your magnets, it delivers.

So, are there any risks? Sadly, the world we live in these days means we have to be a bit more careful around magnets, with pace makers etc. not liking these. A lot of electronics doesn’t like magnets either, though not everything is at risk, and hey, you mean even some cool effects (not recommended) around various items.

And as my wife says, ‘it sticks to the fridge!’.

The bottom line though, is that it may all seem too gimmicky. And yes, yes it is. However, people spends hundreds on fancy pens every day, and they are given as gifts, or to mark momentous occasions. Why not mix in a bit of fun too?

PS, they do know how to send a package, as this came to me all nicely gift wrapped!

PPS, yes, the pen and the stylus both function extremely well, and the pen feels really good in the hand. The heavy magnets give it a good weight. I should have perhaps said more about this, but the shiny magnetism (pun very much intended) distracted me!

More information and buying options

To find out more, visit them at their website:

Here you find links not only to buy the pen itself, but also to buy spares, and extra magnets. The silver and gun metal variants cost $40.00 (USD) while the gold one costs $45.00 (USD). Shipping around the world is extra.

Verdict

Gimmicky it may be, but awesome as a pen, and the premium build of the magnetic material puts it right in line with any high quality or fancy pen you may want to buy for yourself, or to be used as a gift. They won’t forget this one in a hurry, and it won’t be left in a pile with other pens!
