JBL and Toyota have long been in partnership with the former providing the latter with premium in-car audio systems. JBL designs the systems according to the specific needs of each model in order to produce the best audio results. Aygo may be the smallest in the line-up, but that has been no barrier creating a live gig feel with JBL’s advanced audio technology.

The amplifier in the audio system has 100W per channel taking the total to 600W of sound power on tap. Note that this is enough to create a rock venue vibe or concert hall ambience, whichever pleases you more or you are in the mood of.

There are two 25mm high-frequency tweeters packed inside the new set up. Both of these sit on top of the instrument panel. The two 150mm full-range speakers are set low in the front doors and a meaty 160mm subwoofer for bass sounds is housed in the spare wheel well in the boot. Instead of a spare wheel, Toyota provides with a tyre repair kit. A small comprise made to bring you the best of audio.

The audio system produces a full sound spectrum with incredible audio dynamics. All of this is done alongside saving a good amount of energy thanks to JBL’s energy-saving GreenEdge technology. As a result, the full dynamic performance is maintained meanwhile the power consumption is reduced by half. Sound reproduction is co-ordinated through the bus-less amplifier.

You can also connect your smartphone to the system either via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. As a result, you can get the best of your personal library and enjoy it with ease on the move. The Aygo JBL Edition is also distinguished from other models. It has a special Electro Grey paint finish with bright contrast Mandarin Pop orange roof, front pillars, side sills and lower grille surround. The vibrant look carries through to the cabin, with Mandarin Pop accents around the front air vents, door trims and gear shift. The colour is also picked up in the front seat bolsters and carpet mat edging.

The new Aygo JBL Edition is on sale now, price £14,150 (on the road) with five-speed manual transmission and £14,850 with the x-shift automated manual gearbox. Standard features include Toyota Safety Sense with a Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert, black twin-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels, part-leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning, reversing camera, rear privacy glass and front fog lights.
