Review: Adidas RPD-01 Wireless Sports Headphones

Adidas is all about sport, and their latest RPD-01 offering caters to that industry quite well. Instead of jumping on the ‘true Wireless’ bandwagon, they are offering light and relaxed in-ear headphones on a band that goes around your neck. That ensures that they stay there when they need to, while providing a decent sound and ease of use.

Look and feel

These are really light and are very comfortable. On a run they tend to stay in, and while I have heard some earphones be quite noisy when running, these have a snug fit meaning the sound doesn’t quite ‘bounce’ while running.

I have worn them for runs and bike rides over an hour, and it has been quite relaxed and nice.

Setup

Like most Bluetooth items, they just go straight into pair mode if you turn them on. After that, just go to your device’s settings and pair. Next time you turn them on, they’ll pair up straight away.

To go into pair mode after, just hold the on button a bit longer when you turn it on, and they go into pair mode.

Ease of use

You have three buttons, that allow you basic music control functions, as well as let you take calls.

You also have a customisable button on the other side, letting you control with the app. It can be paired to apps such as Spotify, and it can turn on music, etc.

It is a nice touch, but obviously means you need to have the app installed.

Sound Quality

The sound is quite true to nature, and not overly loud. This means that you can adjust it during your exercise, allowing you to be more aware of your surroundings at lower volumes, while a more immersive experience is available if you turn it up. Either way, it is comfortable experience.

Good for long run sessions, or just sit back and relax and listen sessions.

More information

More information on the Adidas RPD-01 Wireless Sports Headphones can be found on their website.

It retails for £69.99, and can be bought from various online retailers such as Amazon.

Verdict

The little bits of attention to detail that these headphones bring are quite nice, and that is what you are really paying for. The main competition is the huge amount of cheaper alternatives available else-where, but you definitely get what you pay for.
