Doro launches Response by Doro services, giving seniors instant access to emergency support at the touch of a button

Doro, the company working to make digital lives easier for the seniors has launched its Response Premium subscription service. All current or future Doro users are eligible to use the service for just £15 per month. It offers users access to instantaneous, 24-hour support – all the more important during the ongoing pandemic.

Users also have the liberty to invite as many family members or friends they want to be notified instantly in case of an emergency. All Doro phones come with a Response button and the service will be connected to it.

If the Response button is pressed, the already selected list of responders will be informed immediately via an alarm and GPS notification allowing them to locate the seniors. The responders, on the other hand, can either accept or reject the call depending on their availability and distance from the senior in question. Even if one person accepts or declines the call, all other pre-selected responders will be notified. In case there are no responders who accept the alarm during the initial five minutes of it setting off, the service will automatically dial Doro’s trained staff at the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). From there, Doro operators will advise, triage, and support users accordingly. If necessary, they will be able to transfer the call to the emergency services, as well as report on their location.

Doro has joined hands with BT to offer BT Mobile and EE mobile customers owning a Doro handset free first-month access to the Response Premium. Side by side this, Doro is also launching the Response by Doro which is a lite version of Response Premium by Doro which will be accessible free of cost to all Doro users with compatible devices. This lite service allows for the same unlimited number of invited responders. It sends the notification with an alarm and GPS location when set off. However, unlike the premium version of the service, it does not grant them access to the ARC’s trained response staff should a relative not be able to accept the alarm call.

Peter Marsden, Managing Director, Doro UK & Ireland said: “These services aim to provide Doro users and their loved ones with added security and peace of mind, at a time when it matters most. The Doro Response button has always been one of our phones signature features, ever since the founding of the company. Through the launch of Response Premium by Doro and Response by Doro, we look to boost the functionality of this unique feature. The offering is perfect for EE and BT Mobile’s mobile customers with a Doro handset.”

Danny Marshall, Device Portfolio Director, BT Consumer: “We always look for ways to provide customers with great new services to support their mobile experience, including the most vulnerable users. Response Premium by Doro will give customers a quick and easy way to get professional help, at a touch of a button. This will help support independent living and provide additional peace of mind for friends and relatives”

Both Response by Doro services are available to customers using recently launched Doro models, including the 8080, 8050, 8040, and 8035 smartphones, as well as the 7010 and 7030 feature phones. The Doro 7010, 7030, 8035 and 8050 devices are available to purchase at EE, whilst the Doro 7030 and 8050 are available at BT Mobile.
