D-Link unveils new AI-driven mydlink cameras for smart home surveillance

D-Link

D-Link, a global leader in home security and surveillance solutions, has announced a new mydlink camera with a wide range of intelligent detection features, specifically designed for high-quality surveillance in a wide range of indoor environments.

The new D-Link camera has been put into shape for the modern small office or home. It comes equipped with a free, intelligent AI-based motion detection. The new camera allows users to choose what to capture and when to be alerted. Users also have the liberty to select the types of motion the camera should detect, such as an intruder as opposed to a dog, an object crossing a defined boundary or into a specific area. They can also define multiple zones, alerting them immediately when movement is detected in particular areas.

Packed Features

The new features in the DCS-8325LH include the integrated night vision, 1080p resolution, microSD card slot for local recording, two-way audio functionality as well as the latest WPA3 Wi-Fi security. It allows users to see more of them with the help of a single camera due to the 151 degrees wide-angle lens.

Setup Process

The setup process for the camera is pretty simple. You can set it up via the mydlink app for smartphones and tablets. Users can also benefit from the free mydlink cloud recording. The cloud recording allows them to store recorded videos for 24 hours in their personal cloud storage. Alternatively, a range of paid-for options offering recording retention of up to 30-days of footage is also available.

The mydlink app also supports Rich Notifications which sends a push notification with snapshot to the mobile device the moment activity is detected. Users can react immediately without the need to log into the app by accessing the camera’s live view or calling one of two pre-assigned contacts with a single tap.

Designed with the modern smart home in mind, it can work in collaboration with a wide range of mydlink devices, such as smart plugs and sensors. It is also fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, providing the additional convenience of hands-free voice control. The camera is also compliant to ONVIF Profile S. This gives users additional flexibility when integrating with compatible network video recorders (NVRs) and video management systems (VMS).
