OPPO has long since been revolutionizing the technological world with its inventions, and now this international giant has announced its latest prize: a dual-mode 5G smartphone. Avid fans heard of this exciting news at the Qualcomm 5G Summit where they learnt that Qualcomm will be responsible for powering the smartphone via its dual-mode 5G platform. Compatible with both Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) networks, the smartphone will truly be one of a kind.

Attendees of the 5G summit were exposed to the depth of 5G and the wonders that development in this sector is soon to bring. Tang, OPPO’s chief 5G scientist relayed OPPO’s crucial role in this journey, saying, “The unrelenting efforts from OPPO and other industry peers have paved the way for the rapid adoption of 5G, with users in select countries and regions already becoming early adopters of OPPO’s 5G smartphones. We hope our next-generation dual-mode 5G offerings will deliver a superior experience to more consumers in more markets globally, making 5G readily available to a wider consumer base worldwide.”

OPPO’s partnership with Swisscom, a leading Swiss telecom agency, has led to the unveiling of the OPPO Reno 5G in European markets. This heads as a Segway for the European Union as the premier of 5G tech in their waters. Chief OPPO personnel have revealed current international projects that work on the commercialization and spread of 5G availability to a greater number of nations.

OPPO has acted as a starting point for the development of 5G technology worldwide. Their research and experimentation have led to the spread of 5G to a point where it is regarded as one of the leading technologies of tomorrow. As of September 2019, OPPO had filed applications for over 2,500 global patent families and declared more than 1,000 families of 5G Standard Essential Patents to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).

As for the OPPO dual-mode 5G Smartphone, users will have to wait in anticipation for any real details. All that is known so far is that it is made in collaboration with Qualcomm and features a midrange 5G chipset, the first of its kind. In all, it should be a smartphone unlike any other.
