Bang & Olufsen’s debut soundbar for TV’s: Beosound Stage

Beosound Stage

Bang & Olufsen has brought its signature sound to the television world with the launch of the Beosound Stage. The soundbar is designed to bring an immersive cinematic experience to the consumer using one single speaker. It is powerful and produces superbly deep sounds

“We created Beosound Stage as a powerful soundbar that doesn’t rely on a subwoofer or satellites to create an immersive experience. The first time you hear Beosound Stage, the impact of the deep, powerful sound hits you immediately, and the simple minimalistic Scandinavian design makes it stand out like a piece of furniture. It is simply clean, elegant and powerful”, says Christoffer Østergaard Poulsen, Vice President of Product Management at Bang & Olufsen.

Home is what it caters to

The soundbar created in collaboration with Danish studio NORM Architects beautifully integrates with the home environment. It has come into existence as a result of Band & Olufsen’s design strategy to humanize technology and strongly fulfills it.

The main attraction of the product is the simplicity and elegance of the design. It is available in natural aluminum, bronze-tone aluminum or smoked oak. The frame runs all the way around the speaker and houses a seamlessly integrated engraved sensory control panel. The 2mm gap between the frame and the fabric speaker cover gives the illusion that the speaker is floating within the frame and creates an exciting contrast between the rigid exterior and the soft, acoustically transparent textile.

Integration of eleven custom-designed speaker drivers

The soundbar includes eleven speaker drivers. Each driver has its own 50-watt amplifier. The sound produced as a result is so satisfying that even a discerning listener enjoys it. The renowned engineers at Bang & Olufsen have manufactured large custom woofers that cover a massive range of lower frequency. Consequently, the soundbar produces a rich deep bass. There are four four-inch woofers in the center channel drivers which continuously work at reducing distortion, producing better bass.

Then come the two one and a half inch drivers that handle the mid frequencies of the center. This is made possible with the combination of a ¾ inch dome tweeter. The left and right sides of the speaker are optimized to deliver the three-dimensional sound. A 1½-inch midrange and a ¾ inch tweeters at each side are placed close together at a 45-degrees off-axis angle in a baffle design to create a 3D sound effect.

Integration of Dolby Atmos for 3D sound generation
The soundbar also has an integration of Dolby Atmos. The Atmos heightens the soundstage which results in giving the audio a 3D effect. This feature allows for a true cinematic experience at home.

Multiroom streaming and ToneTouch

The Beosound Stage soundbar is also compatible with leading streaming technologies including Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth which can be used when the TV is inactive, offering multi-room functionality.

The soundbar also has several listening modes including TV, Music, Movie, Night or None. once you have selected the mode, you are allowed to fine-tune the sound according to your ear taste using ToneTouch.
