Garmin unveiled the fēnix 6 series

On August 29, 2019, Garmin International announced the next generation of its flagship GPS multisport smartwatch lineup, the fēnix 6 series. It comes equipped with Power Manager for long-lasting battery and PacePro technology to allow runners to plan their races better. The smartwatch has the largest round display offered by Garmin to date. 

“We are thrilled to introduce solar charging into the new fēnix 6X Pro Solar edition, giving users all of the features they’ve come to expect from the fēnix lineup with increased battery life and larger displays,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales.

fēnix 6X Pro Solar is the first Garmin GPS watch that comes with solar charging. It has a Power Glass which is a transparent solar charging lens. Power Glass uses the sun’s energy to increase battery life. Consequently, users can make excessive use of the amazing features offered by the watch due to extended battery life. The battery performance on the fēnix 6X Pro Solar in smartwatch mode is 21 days plus an additional 3 days when utilizing the solar charging capabilities.

The fēnix 6 and fēnix 6X multisport GPS watches feature a rugged, sophisticated design. The display sizes have been increased to 1.3” and 1.4” respectively. The fēnix 6S has maintained its 1.2” display accommodating smaller wrists. 

Garmin has also introduced new QuickFit nylon bands and silicone colors. The smartwatch gives a premium feel due to the sapphire editions lens and other top-notch materials. Moreover, fēnix 6 series has introduced the all-new PacePro feature. It keeps a track of the users running strategy and guides them. It enables users to create running plans. While running the course, users will be able to see their target split pace, the actual split pace, distance to the next split, and how much time they are ahead/behind on their target, right on the watch face. The customizable Power Manager brings in great features too. It allows you to see how several settings and senors impact battery life. It can give you an estimate of the remaining battery in terms of hours and days. The battery saving mode is also adjustable. 

The fenix 6 series watches performance all-round performance for long trails and journeys such as skiing and hiking. It has many easy to access inbuilt features that make your day to day life easier. All models also include Garmin Pay, a contactless payment solution6 so users don’t have to worry about carrying cash or cards, which can now be used at major transit systems around the world. Commuters simply tap and pay-per-ride with their watch – no transit card, phone or wallet needed.

Available now, the fēnix 6 series is available now in the UK and Ireland with a suggested retail price that starts at £529.99 (€599.99).
