A taste of ‘home’ by PIA

Pakistan International Airline, more famously known as PIA, is not going through its best days for sure. As our elders tell, PIA was one of the best airlines in the world. Everyone preferred PIA over any other airline. One of the best airlines in the world today like Emirates had been mentored by PIA at the time of their inception. Its staff was considered to be one of the most professional and courteous staff of the world. My dad once told me about the days when PIA’s biryani was gushed over by everyone.

It was world famous for its excellent service and inflight catering. After all, we are a nation of foodies. Good food should obviously be a trademark of our official airline.

However, tables have turned now. Not only the service has taken a back gear, but PIA’s food has also deteriorated big time. We won’t get into all those sad food details as it would take away our focus from the real deal. We are here to discuss PIA’s recent advert about their ‘tantalizing’ breakfast. It says ‘a taste of home’ and has a picture of omelet, beans, and sausages. Yes, a taste of ‘home.’

But don’t worry guys. PIA got you covered with a dash of salt and pepper. After all, a taste of ‘home’!

This advert spread like fire. Pakistani social media was enraged beyond words and many people had something to say.

Maybe they meant Brits.

Whose home, bro?

You go, girl!

If anything, this advert is only confusion.

The picture is not even Brit, man. This sliced of cheese sadly rolled on the top of this dejected omelet looks homeless.

Imagine a land of the world’s richest breakfasts like Naan chholay, nihari, payai, paratha etc. serving this pale breakfast!

Just imagine and sigh a deep breath.

Good luck with your trip, mate.

This might be sarcasm but we would like to give it some brownie points for optimism.

An identity crisis maybe?

Aah this taste of ‘home’ is giving us shudders. If my ‘home’ serves this I need to recheck my address maybe. My home had the most exciting Spicy omelet and paratha, not this gloomy sight. PIA needs to get its facts straight, bring back people’s trust in them and probably hire a better creative agency.

We repeat it is NOT a taste of home.
