The world of social media has revolutionized many things in our real world. It has introduced many new concepts that never existed before. One such concept is blogging. One such blog is ‘The Delhi Walla’ by Mayank Austen Soofi. As the name suggests this blog is about Delhi, the magical centre of civilization for centuries. But it’s not just another Delhi blog. Mayank Austen Soofi attempts to view little things and people in Delhi with a unique rawness that probably no one else has.

This blog is mystical and holds your heart in just the right place. Short sentences that are sometimes not even the sentences, powerful images that are derived from ordinary people and their lives around the multi-layered Delhi, and often the combination of both stirs your soul and evokes your senses in the most unusual and subtle way. No post will let you get away with it that easily.

Mayank Austen Soofi, as the name suggests, is a photojournalist, columnist and blogger who has written for many reputed media houses but his blog ‘The Delhi Walla’ has our heart for now and forever. His middle name, a tribute to the author Jane Austen, suggests his deep literary inclination. The images are from the life of a common man seen with an eye sensitive to human thoughts an emotions. One of his images is also a title of Arundhati Roy’s novel ‘The Ministry of Utmost happiness.’

Though originally from Nainital, Soofi has rejuvenated the layers and romance of the city of Ghalib and Nizam Uddin Aulia- Delhi. Thank you for enhancing a Pakistani’s urge to visit Delhi and live an Austen dream. We wish these imaginary lines do not hold Lahore back from loving Delhi and vice versa.
