Get The Most Your Of Your Sonos Speakers With These Tricks

While everyone’s been gushing about multi-room audio systems available in the market today, Sonos has been sitting snug on its throne, knowing full-well they’ve pioneered the whole thing.

Indeed, Sonos has been around since 2002, revolutionising the way our home sound system works. Over the years, the speakers have filled rooms with sweet music through wireless means. If you own one or are deciding to buy a Sonos at Harvey Norman, you might already know how easy it is to set up.

All it takes is connecting just one speaker to a home network, and then gradually adding these speakers to each room until you can jam to your favourite tunes every moment you get. But to help you get the most of your speakers, here are some Sonos tricks you must know.

Cinema experience

If you want to convert your entertainment room into a full mini cinema suite, you can do so through Sonos Playbase and Sonos Playbar. You can upgrade these with Play:1 speakers at the back of the room, and Play:3 or Play:5 speakers for more power.

Set your favourite tune as your alarm

Have a speaker sitting right at your bedside and wake up listening to your go-to morning jam. Just go to the Sonos app, access the settings menu, and set the song you want to play on your preferred wake-up time.

You can also set the ‘sleep mode’ in which the Sonos will play songs that will help you fall asleep. It will automatically turn off at a given time period.

Use 3D touch to play the last song

Not a lot of people use the 3D touch. It was cool the first time it was rolled out, sure. But most apps do not really use it as much, so it is really easy to forget it exists. With Sonos, however, you can maximise 3D Touch by using it to play the last track or the last radio station you listened to.

Just do a hard press on the app and a pop-up menu will appear.

See how many times you played a song

Sonos itself cannot tell you how many times you have played Man Who Can’t Be Moved that Saturday night. But if you use last.fm with the app, it will start tracking all the songs you have played with your top streaming apps.

Create a meditative playlist

Another partner app is the iHeartRadio which allows you to load playlists that can match your mood. For instance, if you want something laid back in the night while you work or study, you can definitely find meditative or related mood playlists.

Take advantage of smart recommendations

Sonos will show thumbs down and thumbs up icons on certain tracks you are playing to allow you to downvote or upvote songs. Depending on your votes, Sonos will start recommending songs that fit your preferences.

This gives them the means to improve your experience while you are using their service.

Connect to Alexa

This is a feature that was rolled in 2017. You only need a strong Wi-Fi connection to control your Sonos speakers using Alexa-enabled devices like the Amazon Echo.

So you can create a playlist from many different streaming apps, just look at the partner apps for the Sonos. Do these tricks now and you will enjoy surround sound tunes all day, every day.
