There’s a new play in town which is worth checking out for its great production quality and fast paced storyline. Rubaru Ishq Tha has started on Geo Entertainment and here’s our breakdown.
Almeer: Danish Taimoor
Ayaan: Sanam Chaudhary
Wahaj: Ali Abbas
Salwa: Ushna Shah
Writer: Amber Azhar
Director: Furqan Khan
Production: Zeeshan Khan/TNI Productions
Plot: Ayaan loves Almeer. Wahaj is Ayaan’s brother. Almeer loves Salwa. Salwa’s family is very conservative and borderline mad. Ayaan is mad too and she’d go to any lengths to get Almeer. It’s all a a lot of madness with complicated relationships, tons of intrigue, violence, unrequited love, screaming and crying.
In Review: While the plot is fairly simple, the performances and the rapid twists and turns can make RIT a fun watch. It’s one of those guilty pleasure plays that you’ll end up being addicted to just because of how nuts they can be. Revenge, jealousy, brutality, it’s all happening. Danish Taimoor is his very typical hero self and Sanam Chaudhary does a good job in portraying crazy. Ushna does her best to fit the demure damsel but something about her is so sparky that we have a hard time liking her or falling for her as the damsel in distress. We do love her sparky, spunky roles, especially the kind she did in Lashkara. As for Ali Abbas, we wish he’d do more positive, hero roles because he’s quite cute and being a brutal cop isn’t something we want to see too much of. Ali Abbas is being seen as the hero in the Geo play Mera Khuda Jaanay and he seems to be doing a great job there. So overall, check it out for a guilty pleasure, for its soapy quality and some really nice performances by all the lead actors.
