Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 Redefines The Semi-Rugged Market

Notebook computers are probably among the most popular for those who use their devices outdoors in places such as construction sites. It makes sense then that durability is a high priority for these consumers. They want reliable performance, functionality and flexibility while at the same time having a computer that will withstand the challenging conditions they enter. So, Panasonic have introduced an updated version of their Toughbook CF-54 and they have promised it will redefine the semi-rugged market.

So, what makes this so durable? It is the best protected device in its category and uses magnesium plating on all four sides. It has full keyboard and display area spill protection and a honeycomb-style bonnet for the best possible protection from bumps or knocks. The computer can survive a drop of up to 76cm. As an option, it can be branded with a company logo too. The battery is durable too, lasting up to 10 hours and has a swappable battery option. It’s also possible to customise by adding a second battery to the device. Every device comes with a 3-year warranty covering hardware failures for systems used as designed and a 5-year spare part guarantee and a 96-hour repair commitment.

They all feature an Intel Core i5-7300U vPro Processor with flexible modular configuration and port areas which can be a 2nd LAN, d-GPS, 4th USB 2.0 or rugged USB. Users can also choose DVD, 2nd battery, Smartcard reader or a PC card. Since it is designed with mobile workers in mind, connectivity is a top priority for this device. It comes with a range of interfaces including a VGA and HDMI for displays and date projectors, a True Serial port, LAN port, USB 3.0 ports and a SD card slot. It also features a docking connector and optional 4G LTE, dual pass through antenna, fingerprint reader and a Contactless Smart Card reader. The device also has a 2 megapixel webcam and a backlit keyboard for ease of use in dark conditions.
