5 Apps of the Month

There’s no doubt that apps have become an integral and everyday part of our lives, so keeping on top of the best ones is important.

With that in mind, here are The Smart Phone Company’s most popular apps for June 2015:

Meerkat

Free

As well as being the most popular app of May, Meerkat is also in the running for being the most controversial with increasing rivalry against social media giant Twitter.

Allowing you to live stream videos via Twitter, while viewing videos of some of the biggest celebrities in the world, Meerkat looks to be topping its rival, Periscope, which happens to be owned by Twitter itself – causing a great war between the two apps.

Unsurprisingly, Meerkat has found a healthy group of celebrity users, who no doubt, have found the live streaming apps a great convenience during marketing and publicity stints.

Dreamstime: Sell Your Photos

Free

For avid amateur photographers, this app could be the dream that they have been waiting for. Although services like Shutterstock are relatively hard to get into, Dreamstime allows photographers and phone users to sell their photos via their handset in an image stock model.

Although users are warned against uploading personal pictures, this app could be great for those hoping to crack it in the highly competitive world of professional photography.

Wear Fitness Personal Trainer

Free

Launched by Vimo Labs, this apps is one in a thousand that wants you to use your smartwatch for fitness.

That said, it is also great for tracking exercises in the gym and helps users create new routines with the added bonus of helping them make the most of their exercise time. Less clumsy than competitors and easy to set up, it is worth downloading Wear Fitness while it remains free.

Lego Star Wars

£4.22

Everyone loves Lego, and nearly everyone loves Star Wars, so with that in mind, this particular game is set to be one of the largest releases this year.

Although it comes in at a whacking 735MB, which might be a tad too large for older devices, the game looks to be a sure treat for anyone who loves either Lego, Star Wars, or computer games in general.

Goat Simulator GoatZ

£3.99

It is without a doubt that Goat Simulator was one of the craziest and most-loved releases of 2013, but now, there’s more.

Like every computer game seems to do these days, the makers of Goat Simulator have stepped into the scary world of zombies – which might be no bad thing.

Like the original, GoatZ is ridiculous, but it is funm and when you’re paying any amount of money for a mobile phone app, that’s exactly what you want.

For those who want the full-blown version, it is also available on Windows via Steam, so take a look at the video below to see if it happens to be down your street:
