Top 5 iPad Air Cases & Accessories

A new month brings new accessories; here are the best of the latest accessories and cases for the iPad Air.

5. Ballistic Tough Jacket Case

Ballistic are a newer brand, but they’ve already proven themselves stalwart guardians of expensive electronics everywhere. Their Tough Jacket Case is their finest creation to date, adding layers of impact protection to the iPad Air. While the iPad becomes a lot heavier and thicker, it’s also pretty much fully protected from being damaged in a drop or knock. The case also includes a kickstand, so you can watch videos and other media conveniently.

4. Capdase Dual USB Car T2 Charger and Monitor

For a long time most cheap car chargers have provided little actual charge; barely more than the 0.5A you’ll get from your computer’s USB port. With the iPad requiring 2.1A, this means often times your battery will be depleted faster than it’ll actually be replenished. This Dual USB charger from Capdase reverses the trend, providing 3.4A of power and two USB ports – enough to charge an iPad and an iPhone at full speed. It’s a nice ability to have, and it comes at a low price and in a very portable form factor.

3. Griffin CinemaSeat

The ideal complement to your sudden excess of iPad charge is this backseat car holder. You’ll be able to replicate the experience of those cool in-car TVs that showed up in the 90s, but instead of DVDs you’ll be able to play anything on your iPad – including games, TV shows, movies, music and even educational apps. The CinemaSeat also includes a nice little back pocket, which you can put your headphones in and other bits and pieces.

2. Moshi iVisor XT Screen Protector

The screen of the iPad remains its most vulnerable area, but you can shore it up with a good quality screen protector. This one from Moshi includes a nice border around the screen, making it very easy to align properly. You can even wash and re-use the screen protector, making it a better investment over time than cheap plastic screen protectors.

1. ZAGGkeys Bluetooth Keyboard Folio Case

I’m a big fan of these keyboard cases for the iPad, and the ZAGGkeys looks like a strong alternative to the Kensington KeyFolio we looked at last month. The draw here is a keyboard that allows you to write much more quickly and comfortably than the software keyboard of the iPad, plus a hinge that allows for laptop-like angling. Backlit keys and iPad shortcut keys are nice extras, too. The price is high though at nearly £100, likely making this one for professionals only.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve found these cases and accessories useful. Thanks for checking out the recommendations, and be sure to let us know if you have suggestions of your own in the comments below.
