LG is one of the global leaders when it comes to televisions. CES has long been a platform to show off the best, and LG have taken this opportunity to impress one and all. This year’s line up includes LG’s brand new Smart TV platform, developed from webOS, as well as the world’s largest and most impressive screens, featuring Ultra HD resolution, at 105 and 77 inches.

“LG has always been at the forefront of technology innovation, but 2014 marks a significant step for us in the breadth and depth of our product offer.”Says Andy Mackay, UK Commercial Director, Consumer Electronics. “One of the biggest successes for us in this year’s home entertainment lineup is the combination of a pioneering, intuitive and easy to use Smart TV service in webOS, matched with world leading screen technologies.

“LG’s webOS Smart TV platform realises the potential of online services and apps via true integration of Smart TV into consumer’s user experience. When coupled with the quality, premium hardware that we are renowned for producing, this allows users to easily enjoy their favourite content with a stunning viewing experience.”

LG webOS

webOS was a brand created by HP, and it was sold by them last year in March to LG. LG have reinvented it, and introduced it as LG’s new Smart TV Platform. It offers an intuitive UI, and for once tries to give users a proper OS for Smart Televisions. It also promises to simplify setup, and makes content searching, viewing, connecting with other devices, etc incredibly smooth.

At the heart is the new Launcher, which allows the lower portion of the screen to become left-to-right menu, making it possible to switch between TV, smart content, and media without having to return to the Home screen. It allows the user to watch a show, play a game, or browse the internet while downloading or searching other items.

As featured in the picture, LG have unveiled the world’s largest (105 inch) curved UHD TV. It features a 21:9 ratio, making it ideal for cinema scope as well as enjoying information on the side of the screen.

LG’s lineup also features the world’s largest OLED curved display (77″), as well as 55 inches models.
