MisFit Introduces the Shine

misFit Shine

Fitness gadgets and wearable tech seem to be going on a single path at the moment, and quite frankly, among all the smart ‘watch’ type instruments, it is the fitness ones that seem to be the best designed so far.

Misfit Wearables, a relatively unknown name in the UK, have announced the Misfit Shine, a physical activity tracker that can be worn in any way possible, throughout the day. You can wear it on your wrist, attach it to your shoe, belt, or even swimsuit. It recognizes different sporting activities such as swimming, basketball, tennis and football, and uses sensors to tell users how much they have moved.

It also calculates calories burnt, daily goals, and the battery lasts (wait for it…) four months! All this in a slim and waterproof metal disc, size of a 50p!

Much like the competition, it works with an app, though it is only available for Apple devices at the moment. Pairing happens through BlueTooth.

Among other features is the fact that it can also monitor sleep patterns, showing how well users are sleeping.

The Misfit comes with a wide variety of wearing options, and is available from the beginning of November from John Lewis, starting at £99.95. The app is available for free.
