Hands On Review – Razor Dirt Scooter

All kids love scooters and if you’re aged six and over a Razor scooter is a must have.

I was expecting lots of different parts in the box and having complicated instructions to follow. We were pleasantly surprised when we found only a few parts to put together. The tools needed were included and the instructions were very clear.

The scooter is very solid and mainly made of metal, the wheels are a good quality (rugged all terrain tyres) and the scooter has grip on the foot plate, with comfortable hand grips. The Razor Dirt scooter is also adjustable to fit different age groups, and has a brake on the back for safety and tricks, as my son informs me.  I asked my sons if there was anything they would add or change to the scooter if they could, they said that they would add a little grip on the brake similar to the foot plate. The scooter is weighty but easy to manoeuvre for my nine-year old. Once together we needed to inflate the tyres (pump not included) and away my son went.

My sons have had a great time on the scooter and have nothing but good things to say about it. As the tyres are similar to a bike it is easier for them to drop down from a curb and as the tyres have more grip on uneven/wet surfaces. The only downside of having a tyre like this is the possibility of a puncture.

At the moment my eldest son is not able to do many adventurous tricks but we have already made plans to take the scooter off-road when the weather improves and to really put this great scooter through its paces.

While this is a well-made and rugged scooter it is also on the pricier side, it retails for about £150. I believe that even though this is not the cheapest scooter on the market it is worth the extra money, we have had many cheaper scooters in the past and they are not as well made or last very long. There is also the advantage of being able to buy replacement parts for the Razor Scooters, if a part breaks or you want to update the scooter, you can swap most parts out.
