CoPilot app pushes new update, saves your data costs

CoPilot_Just-DriveCo Pilot have today pushed a new update that not only gives you a better performance, but also brings in some new features. This update is for both iOS and Android devices.

The highlight is a complete control on how your device will use mobile internet.

The update also adds a ‘Just Drive’ mode, which is similar to the mapped navigation you see in most in-built sat-navs these days. This is great to give you a general idea of where you’re going, and what direction/speed you have, without having to enter a route. The mode also gives you points of interest, and the really handy ‘Speed Camera’ warnings.

“We are always working to enhance CoPilot to address real-world driver issues such as mobile data usage, driver distraction and reliable maps”, said David Quin, head of consumer applications at ALK Technologies. “We know that people are particularly concerned about the cost of using the mobile internet when roaming abroad and even at home, so we’ve added in-app connectivity controls for complete peace of mind when navigating with your smartphone. The CoPilot community also tells us that they don’t always need voice directions when driving, and our new “Just Drive” mode was developed in direct response to that feedback.”

Some other features in the update are as follows:

  • Closed road alert: Active Traffic system will detect a closed road, and offer you an alternative
  • Automatic cloud backup to store your addresses, favourites, etc.
  • Updated maps for Europe and North America
  • Swiftkey support
  • Other fixes
