Apple’s WWDC 2013 Keynote to be streamed live online and on Apple TV

1306pijbesfgvijbefg_preYes folks, it’s that time of year again. There are many rumours flying about the internet as to what Apple are going to be announcing and/or releasing this evening, but there is only one way to be among the first find out the absolute truth. Apple have announced via their Events page that they will be streaming the announcement live via the web and on Apple TV. The Keynote will be starting tonight (10 June 2013) at 6pm GMT.

As this is the developers conference, it seems more than likely that they will be concentrating mainly on their Mac OS and iOS operating systems – with announcements of the details of the new Mac OSX 10.9 and iOS 7 expected. Regarding new hardware announcements, I would hazard a guess that we might see some new computers (the usual performance updates in their laptop/notebook lines and maybe a completely new Mac Pro?). Personally, I think it is unlikely that we will see any new iPad or iPhone models announced today. But as always, everything is merely speculation until the fat lady (in the form of Tim Cook) proverbially sings.

I am most excited to see what changes are coming to iOS 7 now that Jony Ive has been put in charge of the human interface for the software. I hope that visually there will be big improvements in iOS 7 as the whole operating system is really beginning to show its age, particularly when compared to the newer Android releases and Windows Phone 8.

It is worth noting that live streaming the event will require you to be using either Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; or to watch it on your iOS device, you will need Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via your Apple TV will require a second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

If you aren’t interested enough to watch live, then do pop back to oxGadgets later this evening and tomorrow as we will of course be covering all the major updates on here.
