Nexus 7 stand A.K.A “The Stump”

By Bernie

Or should I say, “The Big Piece Of Rubber”.
As we all already know, best ideas are the simplest ones. Take the cardboard coffee cup holder. It’s simple. It’s cheap. It made millions.
Now, I’m not trying to say that “The Stump” will make millions, but it most definitely will have a fan base.

Its simple design is its strongest asset. I mean, take a piece of rubber and cut a line in it. That’s it. Now you can place all kind of devices in there. Phones, tablets, whatever really. Hey, you can even lie them down ON the stump! And it works flawlessly.

It’s made of rubber (doh!) so it’s sturdy, heavy and sticks well to the surface.
During the review period, I’ve used it mainly for my Nexus 7 and occasional Nexus 4.

As I can see it being mainly used with tablets, it’s worth mentioning that it works well in both portrait and landscape modes.
Even though I didn’t have a chance to use it with 10’’ tablets, the sturdiness of it would be more than enough to handle them without fear of actually knocking the tablet over.
One thing I would see improving this device would be a small hole or crevice in front of it, big enough to place the stylus in there. Then my tablet holding needs would be fulfilled. Of course it doesn’t have any charging capabilities, but that’s okay for me or anyone who uses variety of devices.
All in all – highly recommended.
