@GadgetShowLive13 News: LG Announces Pocket Printer

By Sami Mughal

We have been to the Gadget Show Live this year and we are proud to announce that in the coming few days we will be covering many things from the show.
First up, LG continues to amaze us with another feather in their cap, a pocket printer. It is effectively very similar to something we know and trust from Polaroid, but in a pocket format. It uses both Bluetooth and NFC to pair with devices, and uses a special format of paper which means that you don’t need to fork out for ink. Read the complete Press Release for more detail:

The Pocket Photo makes its UK debut at The Gadget Show Live 2013, offering consumers a creative mobile photo printing experience
UK, 3rd April, 2013LG Electronics (LG) today launches the Pocket Photo Smart mobile printer in the UK. Showcased for the first time in the UK at The Gadget Show Live 2013, the Pocket Photo delivers high quality photo prints and provides excellent wireless connectivity, making it the ideal companion for both Android and iOS smartphones. Users simply download the LG Pocket Photo app and make quick edits or embed QR codes before printing. They can also share photos on social media platforms and online, directly from the device.
This savvy device supports Bluetooth and Near Field Communication (NFC) and also employs inkless printing technology from ZINK®, clever technology that eliminates the need for expensive ink cartridges. It is one of the smallest and lightest mobile photo printing devices on the market, easily fitting in the palm of a hand. Very portable and practical, the LG Pocket Photo produces 5.1 x 7.6cm (2 x 3 inch) prints.

Launching at The Gadget Show Live 2013, Birmingham, consumers can experience the Pocket Photo for themselves and try out its many unique features.
The pocket printer will be available in the UK from May 2013 for £129.99.

  1. My son has one of these sort of things….a Polaroid Pogo. Image quality is very poor and the paper is quite costly and like almost anyone under 35, he see’s no point at all in printing anything when anyone he ever wants to share a photo with is on email direct from the phone that he took the picture on.

  2. Wow, you sure are quick when it comes to comments! I haven’t even publicized this properly. Yeah, I did mention the Polaroid up there, though didn’t want to compare it with Pogo. Sadly missed out on a chance to try this properly, just had a quick look. I still love physical printed photos though. They just have a better intimate feel!
