Set up visual Voice Mail on O2

By Sami Mughal

One of the features we were wondering about today was the visual symbol you get, or are supposed to get on phones when you have a voice mail sitting in your inbox. We noticed that it just didn’t appear, and we were being notified about our voicemails via a text message. Before we go on, the setup is on O2. As the questioning and conversation went on, we kept mentioning @o2 in our tweets, and voila, they come back with a solution:

@smacula You can set this up by dialing 901, key *, key 4, key 1, then follow the options to set up your notification of choice 🙂

Doing so will allow you to choose from one of the 3 options:

  • Notification via text, which is the default.
  • Notification via call back.
  • Notification via visual symbol.

We obviously wanted the visual symbol, and as soon as we had set it up, a call was made, a message was left, and immediately a voicemail symbol was seen on our phone!

What network are you on? Is this feature available on your network? We guess it is, but probably hidden away in the voicemail menu!
