Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has expanded Bixby’s voice capabilities to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, allowing millions of consumers to experience a smarter way to interact with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. In addition to South Korea and the United States, consumers in countries across the world, including the U.K., Australia, Canada and South Africa, will be able to utilise the intelligent interface to help them get things done faster and easier. Now that it is finally in the U.K, here are ten things you can do with it.

1.       Toggle settings:

a.       Turn on the Wi-Fi Hotspot

b.       Turn on the flashlight

c.        Change the screen timeout to 10 minutes

d.       Take a screenshot

·         Bixby can also help speed simple tasks:

2.       Clear all notifications

·         Of course most voice assistants can place a call for you, but Bixby can help with a more complex series of actions to let you stay hands-free:

3.       Call Mom and turn on the speakerphone

·         The app can help with a variety of tasks on your phone:

4.       Search My Files for MP3s

·         Working with the Bixby Reminder feature, Bixby Voice can be a powerful tool to help remember key details:

5.       Remember where I parked (parking location must be logged prior)

6.       Remind me every day at 6pm to feed the dogs

·         You can even combine the Reminder with location-aware features:

7.       Remind me to buy milk at the store

·         Bixby works well with your Gallery, and can share to third-party apps:

8.       Enhance this photo and post it on Instagram

·         The app can also perform a complex series of tasks:

9.       Find all of my photos from Dallas, tag them Vacation, and add them to a photo album

·         Bixby can handle the requests even when the tasks move across compatible apps:

Starting today, Galaxy S8 and S8+ users can enable Bixby’s voice capabilities by pressing the Bixby button and updating the app to begin onboarding. You can now activate Bixby by holding the dedicated button on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ phones, or by simply saying, “Hi, Bixby.”
