Review: EasyAcc 20000mAh Compact Power Bank with Quick Charge

Power banks are now an essential device carried by anyone. However, while many offer you huge amounts of power, they have not kept up with the rise in charging technology. As phone technology has risen, so has their power demands. This has inspired phone manufacturers to come up with ways of charging their devices quicker. For most, this is just applying higher current to get more power to go in. In more sophisticated devices, voltage is also manipulated to get an even quicker power flow in.

While this technology will often be included in the charger that comes with your phone, you will struggle to find it in many off the shelf chargers or power banks. EasyAcc is looking to buck the trend by finally offering a power bank that comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology built in. While not every major phone works with it, it is a good step in the right direction.

Features

  • 20,000 mAh capacity in a small package
  • 2 x charging inputs (micro USB)
  • Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0 allows the device to be quickly recharged. Full recharge capable within 5 hours assuming a compatible charger is used.
  • 4 x USB outputs, 1 of which is Quick Charge 3.0 compatible
  • Universal charging capacity
  • Built in safety circuitry
  • Handy torch built in
  • LEDs to indicate charge level
  • Device dimensions: 3.19 x 6.57 x 0.87 in/167 x 81 x 22mm, 410g
This device is essentially an upgrade of the EasyAcc Monster Power Bank.

In the box

  • Power Bank
  • 2 x micro USB cables
  • Instructions/Documentation

Look and feel

The device, while not exactly pocket friendly, is reasonably portable at just over 400g.

The front houses the 4 USB ports as well as the torch, while the top has 4 LED indicators. One of the sides has a power button for the torch and power output while the other side has the 2 micro USB charging ports.

Usage

Sometimes, the simplest things are the best. This applies perfectly to this device from EasyAcc. It is as plug and play as it gets.

At 20,000 mAh, it can charge most phones over 6 times, and can even have a go at a bigger tablet such as the iPad.

It will work with anything that takes 5V, but not more, so no, you can’t use it with your MacBook or similar ultrabook.

What makes it great is how it packages such a huge amount of portable power in such a small package.

Ideal to keep in your backpack all the time, or as a main charger for when you travel. I know I do!
